2025 -1st EOW Training workshop

The 2025 campaign has been launched and the first training course about the field protocol was held on 28/04/25.

As explained during the course, the EOW protocol is camera trap based and it implements the Random Encounter Model (REM, Rowcliffe et al. 2008) for the estimation of wild population densities. In addition the protocol sees the use of photogrammetry, which, through a double calibration process, allows to directly obtain species-specific day range values and camera detection parameters from the sequences of images obtained on the field. The detailed protocol and the training course allow its coherent implementation from the EOW network, resulting in a large amount of comparable datasets from most European countries.
